We managed to make it work, but it wasn't easy to assemble. The screws for the bottom were stripped and didn't go all the way through to the leg. The seat is scratchy on the skin. If I hadn't already thrown away the box, I would have returned it.
This stool has to be the worst I've ever seen. After paying a handyman to assemble it, I noticed the stool wasn't sliding correctly on the floor because one leg was sticking. Upon inspection, I found silicone applied to the shorter leg to try to level the stool. Since silicone was only on some legs, the stool sticks to the floor. It's clear they tried to sell it without fixing the problem. What will happen when the sticky glue on the back of the silicone stops working and it falls off? Now there's another issue to deal with.
It's very frustrating that I have three stools of the same color and one that is significantly lighter. I even tried reordering and received another stool in the lighter color.
Two of the stools were missing leg pads, and one part (the crossbar) didn't fit properly, leaving large gaps. I bought these for additional seating during family gatherings and parties, and for that purpose, they will work fine. However, I doubt their durability for daily use, especially since the finish may come off when people rest their shoes on the crossbars. They were difficult for a 67-year-old woman like me to assemble! I didn't have the hand strength to tighten the eight screws adequately with the Phillips head screwdriver provided.
What a disappointment. Everything else about this stool is good except for the cushion. The thin foam cushion is lightweight and has stayed squished down since I first sat on it. If you want a comfortable, cushioned stool, keep looking because this isn't it.
